Thiruchitrakootam divya desam is inside the premises of Thillai Nataraja Temple. Tough the temple is inside the big Chidambaram Nataraja temple, this perumal temple has got its own Gopuram,Kodimaram(flagstaff) and praharams and a sannidhi for Thaayar. This temple is glorified in the Divya Prabandham.
As per legends,Maha Vishnu and Mahalakshmi admired and judged the Thillai thandavam (dance) of Lord Shiva and Parvathi.
The temple is built in Dravidian temple Architecture style.The temple is situted on the western side of the Thillai Natarajar temple.
Goddess Pundarakavalli Thayar has a separate sannidhi.
The Moolavar here is Govindarajan. He is found in Sayanakolam facing the east. Prathyaksham for Thillaimoovayiravar,Kanvar,Pathanjali,Vyakyapadhar.
