Thiruindalur is one of the 108 divya desams in Mayavaram (Mayiladuthurai) town itself.
According to the legends, Lord Narayan removed the curse of Chandran here at this place. Indhu means moon and as the Lord cured Chandra (Moon) of his curse, this place is known as Indhaloor.
The Moolavar of this sthalam is Sri Parimala Ranganathan. Also called as Sugantha Vananathan and Andhiya Rangan. He is seen in Kidantha (Sleeping) Thirukkolam in Veera Sayanam facing east.
Prathyaksham for Chandran ( Moon)
The Thayaar found in this sthalam is Parimala Ranganayaki. Also known as Chandra shaba vimosana valli and Pundarigavalli.
Mangalasasanams The temple is revered by the verses of Tirumangai azhwar
Festivals This temple has utsavama (festivals) throughout the month of Aipasi (Ashwina/Ashvayuja - mid-October to mid-November).
Temple location It is situated in Mayavaram town close to the bus stand. If you drive your car, it is easily accessible.
