  Temple View M arudhamalai Murugan Temple    dates  to 12th-century and is a beautiful  hill temple situated 500 feet above the MSL 15 kms from  Coimbatore ,  Tamil Nadu .  Like many other Murugan temples, this  temple  is situated upon a hill  of  the  Western Ghats  in the suburb of Coimbatore.  Marudhamalai is dotted with medicinal herbs and has a lot of trees called Marudham trees ,hence the name for the abode.   According to legends a siddhar known as  Pambatti Siddhar  performed penance on the Marudhamalai hill. Subramanya Swami Temple - Tiruchendur Subramanya Swamy-(file picture) This beautiful temple in Tiruchendur is situated on the shores of the beach of Gulf of Mannar in the Bay of Bengal. The origin of this temple is said to be dated to 2000 yrs old. It is one of the six "Aaru padai veedu" (six abodes of Lord Muruga). As per legends, there was this powerful demon king called Soorapadman, who was invincible and he along with his brothers was torturing the devas and creating big chaos to the three worlds. Subramanya Swami Temple - Thirutanni Subramanya Swamy-(file picture) Thiruttani Subramanya Swamy Temple of Lord Subramanya is located on top of a hillock in Thiruttani is 90 kms from Chennai. This is also known as Thiruthanikai. It is one of the six "Aaru padai veedu" (six abodes of Lord Muruga). As per the legends Subramanya along with his lieutenant Veerabaghu, fought with the demon king Soorbathman in a long battle and killed him.
