Thirunaavai Sri Naavai Mukundan Temple Sri Naavai Mukundan Temple Thirunaavai or Thirunaavaya is one of the 108 divya desam temples situated in Kerala. It is situated onthe banks of Bharatapuzha river 2kms from the Thirunavaya station on the Shoranur Kozhikode line. As per legends nine yogis did a big yagna and wanted to install an idol of Sri Krishna. The first eight idols sank into the Earth and the ninth sank upto to its knees. As it is the ninth such idol ,Perumal here is called "Navamukunda Perumal". As the location of the sunken idols is not known, local devotees do pradikshina on their knees.
