It is situated onthe banks of Bharatapuzha river 2kms from the Thirunavaya station on the Shoranur Kozhikode line. As per Bhagavadha purana, Vishnu descended as Vamana to restore the authority of Indra which had been taken by Mahabali, a benevolent Asura King.
